Florence Copper States:

As part of the application process, we are asking students to record and edit a two- minute video answering the question: Imagine a world without copper: How would American teenage life change?

We encourage you to be creative. Act a play, sing a song, recite a poem, or anything else. The more creative the video the better. No fancy equipment is necessary. Cell phone recordings are just fine. We are looking for videos that are creative and also educate an audience about how copper has many uses in our society and is important to modern lifestyles.

Basic editing can be done with programs such as iMovie (for MAC users) or Windows Live Movie Maker (for PC users). Still photography options used in these

programs will be accepted with sound effects (voice narrative, sounds or music added). Tutorials for how to use these programs can be found online. Final submission must be in a supported YouTube file format. Any music must meet YouTube’s copyright guidelines.

Complete the form that can be found in the link below by May 1, 2019 and submit to Florence Copper.

Scholarships will be judged and awarded based on the following criteria:

  • Academic, athletic, or other achievements (community, volunteer, etc.)
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Achievements, awards, and recognition at school, in the community, and/or personal activities
  • Creativity and quality of video submission
  • Awards will be made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or other protected classifications.
