The Department of Pinal County Juvenile Court Services and it’s Community Advisory Board (CAB) will be co-sponsoring the Pinal County 6th Annual Mock Trial Competition. Over 200 middle school and high school students will compete during the day-long competition at Pinal County Superior Court in Florence on Friday, March 8, 2019. The competition runs from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Students will have the opportunity to compete for best witness, opening statement, closing statements, cross-examination, direction examination, and witness as they showcase their prosecution and defense skills.

Those competing in the Varsity Division are Casa Grande Junior High School, Cactus Middle School, School, Villago Middle School, Miami High School, and Circle Cross Ranch School

Junior Varsity Division includes Apache Trail High School, Vista Grande High School, Combs High School, Maricopa Wells Middle School, Picacho Elementary, San Tan Charter School, Villa Oasis High School, Sequoia Pathways Academy, and Desert Wind Middle School.

A distinguished group of Pinal County Superior Court Judges will be on hand to oversee the competition: Judge Daniel Washburn, Judge Delia Neal, Judge Barbara Hazel, Judge Larry Wharton, Judge John Ellsworth, and Judge Lyle Riggs.

The Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a diverse group of citizens who work with Juvenile Court Services to evaluate and enhance services to young people in Pinal County. Their common interest is to ensure that Juvenile Court practices continue to reflect the best interest of youth, families, victims, and the community.
