Important, Safe, & Easy

By The Town of Queen Creek

With Census Day 2020 just six months away, it is important for residents to know how and why to participate.

Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a census to capture a complete count of everyone living in the United States. Participation is important, safe and easy!

Important

The federal government uses the data from the Census to distribute funds to local through state-shared revenue. Queen Creek relies on state-shared revenue for important programs, including street maintenance, law enforcement, fire services, parks and recreation. In FY2020, 21% of the Town’s operating revenue is state-shared revenue. Beyond the financial impact, legislative representation is determined by census data.

Safe

Information collected for the Census is legally protected. Answers can only be used to create statistics; other government entities are prohibited from accessing individual Census forms. The online survey is a secure site using encrypted data.

Easy

The 2020 Census will offer three easy ways to participate: online, over the phone and by mail. In early March, residents will receive a letter from the U.S. Census with an invitation to participate. The nine questions can be completed in nine minutes!

Help shape your future and count for today and future generations by participating in the 2020 Census!
