What Is The Plan For Section 11 Wastewater Treatment Plant

In April, Johnson utilities submitted the application to expand Section 11 Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Last week ADEQ offered Public Hearings to inform the community regarding what is being proposed and how it will affect the community.

Turnout to the Hearing was low. But, that doesn’t mean residents don’t have a chance to make an impact regarding the proposed development to Section 11 Wastewater Treatment Plant.

ADEQ is encouraging residents to submit comments regarding the wastewater treatment plant proposal. Residents can submit comments to ADEQ by doing the following:

Fact Sheet:

Johnson Utilities issued a press release announcing that Section 11 Wastewater Treatment Plant will be closing, but have not issued a closing plan to ADEQ at this time. As a press release is nonbinding, ADEQ must move forward with the proposed application that Johnson Utilities submitted back in April.

If Johnson Utilities meets all of the requirements of the permit, the end results will be expanding the plant’s capacity from 1.6 million gallons a day to 6.4 million gallons per day. Comments must be submitted by August 21.
