The following message was sent to all FUSD parents at 5am this morning:

Hello FUSD Parents and Guardians,
At approximately 9pm on January 29th, we were notified of a possible threat against our district.  We contacted the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office who immediately sent a deputy to investigate.
The safety and well-being of our students is our number one priority, therefore, we take all reports of possible threats very seriously.
After completing their preliminary investigation, it was determined by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office that this threat was connected to a school in the Mesa school district and not in FUSD.  Local law enforcement will provide welfare checks on our schools as a precaution, but our schools have been given the all-clear to open and safely operate on Wednesday, January 30th.
Based on our communication and assurances from law enforcement, all FUSD schools will operate on their normal schedule.  If you choose to keep your student(s) home from school on January 30th, your child will not be penalized.  However, you will have to follow normal absence reporting procedures.
