Further Education To Help Integrate Tech Into The Classroom
By Richard Franco, FUSD San Tan Times Staff
Ms. Blanca Morales, FUSD Ed Tech Specialist, recently earned her certification as a Google for Education Trainer.
This will allow Ms. Morales to travel to other school districts around the world and set-up Google for Education schools. She can also conduct professional development trainings on behalf of Google for the teachers and staff across the Florence Unified School District.
Certified Trainers must be admitted by Google into the Program through a selective application process. The application steps are:
- Google Certified Educator Level 1
- Google Certified Educator Level 2
- Google Certified Educator Trainer
- Trainer Skills Assessment
- Application & Case Study
The Level 1 and Level 2 certifications also included a 3-hour assessment to qualify for each level. The whole process took over 60 hours.
“As a team, we value personal growth and development, by becoming Google Certified Trainers we can provide the necessary resources, knowledge, and professional development to teachers within our district. It is our goal to increase teacher comfort levels when integrating technology in the classroom” said Ms. Blanca Morales.
The Google Certified Trainer Website states, “As a Certified Trainer, you’re a part of a selective group of technology experts with special access to resources, product updates and networking opportunities within the Google ecosystem. Google for Education Certified Trainers include anyone who delivers trainings on Google for Education tools to schools and organizations.”
Superintendent Chris Knutsen stated, “Congratulations Ms. Morales on this achievement and for representing Florence Unified on such a grand scale.”
