Snake Safety

June 9, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

For many people, the biggest fear with hiking in warm weather is seeing a snake on the trail. What should you do if you come upon a snake stretched out in the middle of the trail or coiled up alongside it? This indoor discussion on snake awareness sheds light on both snake behavior and yours – which is not as different as you might think! We’ll touch upon some “what if” scenarios involving both venomous and non-venomous residents of our park to help you prepare for your next hike. You can also meet one of our Animal Ambassador snakes to get a better understanding of their point of view. Meet inside the Nature Center. 10-11am.
