This issue we focus on Arizona Corporation Commissioner Tom Forese.

Background

Tom Forese is a Republican from Gilbert, Arizona and has a distinguished record of accomplishments in both business and public service.

Tom has been actively involved as an executive in business and education organizations. He has always focused on job creation in his various roles. In his current capacity, as Chairman of the Arizona Corporation Commission, he understands the importance of low energy rates as they are essential to economic growth and job creation.

Tom was first elected to the Arizona State Legislature in 2010, where he served two terms as the Chairman of the Commerce Committee, the Chairman of the Higher Education Committee, the Chairman of the International Relations Committee and a member of the Appropriations Committee.

In 2014 Tom was elected to the Arizona Corporation Commission. His focus has been on economic development, water policy and eliminating unnecessary regulation.

He and his wife Casey have four children. Tom is committed to making certain that Arizona has a bright and prosperous future for all of its residents.

In 2017, Tom became Chairman of the Arizona Corporation Commission.

Political career

Arizona Corporation Commission (2015-Present)

Forese has served on the commission since January 5, 2015, after winning the open seat in the general election, which took place November 4, 2014.

Arizona House of Representatives (2011-2015)

Forese is a former Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives. He represented District 17 in the state House from 2011 to 2015.

Race for State Treasurer

The Arizona Corporation Commission member has been seeking the seat for more than a year but announced his withdrawal Thursday. He was facing state Sen. Kimberly Yee in August’s Republican primary.

Forese said he decided to step aside after Gov. Doug Ducey appointed Eileen Klein to the treasurer’s post on Tuesday to replace Jeff DeWit. He resigned to become chief financial officer at NASA. Klein said she does not plan to run for the seat.
