Arizona Fish and Game will be constructing a fish habitat at Roosevelt Lake 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28, and 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 29. We will be at the Windy Hill amphitheater parking lot. If you plan on helping them both days, a pass will be provided for free camping in a Forest Service Campground. Please bring cordless drills, sawzalls and a pair of work gloves. IT WILL BE HOT, so come prepared with water and snacks. They will be building roughly 200 Georgia cubes.
What is a Georgia Cube?
A Georgia Cube is a 3ft square cube frame structure made from one and a half inch PVC pipe with approximately 50ft of corrugated drainpipe attached. The bottom and sides of the pipe frame are filled with approximately 16 lbs. of gravel to anchor the structure to the lakebed.
