By The United Citizens – Clean Air Clean Water

We need as many people who are serviced by Johnson Utilities to submit a comment to the ACC regarding Johnson Utilities (JU), Hunt Management, and Ultra Management.

In short, JU diverted millions of dollars (dollars collected through you paying your water and sewer bills) to Hunt Management and Ultra Management (both owned by the son and daughter of George Johnson) while leaving you, the citizens, with terrible water quality, dangerous hazardous gases and sewage spilling in the streets. This diverted money should have been reinvested back into infrastructure upkeep and capital improvements, BUT IT WAS NOT.

The ACC is making a motion to retrieve the millions of dollars BACK from Hunt Management and Ultra Management in order to pay for the infrastructure improvements. If the ACC does not win this, it is likely that YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AGAIN – JOHNSON UTILITIES SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TO DOUBLE DIP AND MAKE THE CITIZENS PAY AGAIN!

Here’s what you need to do:

Second Public Comment:

  1. Click here (or copy/paste in a new browser window): https://eservice.azcc.gov/Utilities/PublicComment
  2. Fill out your information
  3. In the “Company Name filed – search for Johnson Utilities L.L.C.

  5. The field “Your position on the docket” – select “For”
  6. Recommended comment – you can copy and paste and/or write your own comment: “I support the ACC’s efforts to recover all the monetary funds that were diverted from Johnson Utilities to Hunt Management and Ultra Management. I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO PAY FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TWICE!”

Note: You’ll notice that the first public comment has an emphasis on the closure of Section 11. There have been back-end meetings that The United Citizens have been made aware of in which they (ADEQ, EPCOR, JU) plan to leave Section 11 open along with potentially misleading the public. There are homes 50 feet from Section 11 and are still exposed to H2s (hazardous gas) – there were 7 exceedances on 6/23/19 and 6/24/19. These men, women and children are feeling the direct impact of the lack of governance over this issue that could potentially have lasting health affects.
