I-10 ramps to westbound Loop 202 also closed this weekend

By Arizona Department Of Transportation

Sections of the future Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway in Ahwatukee will be closed this weekend as construction crews continue installing overhead signs.

The roadway will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, until 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, eastbound between 24th and 40th streets, and westbound from 40th Street to 32nd Street. In addition, ramps from Interstate 10 to westbound Loop 202 will be closed. Drivers may want to use Chandler Boulevard as an alternate route.

Westbound Loop 202 also will have three lanes closed at Kyrene Road on the Santan Freeway. Drivers will have access to Interstate 10 but may want to consider alternate routes to avoid potential delays. Drivers can reach westbound I-10 by taking the Loop 101 Price Freeway north to US 60, then driving west. To reach eastbound I-10, exit Loop 202 at Price Road, travel south to Queen Creek Road and then west to I-10.

The freeway is scheduled to be open to traffic by the end of the year with construction activities continuing into 2020.
