Enjoy a fun time with some furry friends!
Hiking with a dog – what’s not to love?! Join us for this easy one-mile hike every first Saturday of the month from October-March, where participants can meet a canine hiking buddy and adopt. Partnering with Maricopa County Parks and Rec., volunteers bring dogs from Maricopa County Animal Shelter’s East Valley Animal Care Center to Usery Park. This program features dogs that would make great active companions and provides hikers the chance to meet the dogs outside of the shelter environment. All dogs come to the hikes with their adoption paperwork to allow for on-site adoptions. While MCACC always hopes for adoptions, if a dog is not adopted, the hikes still provide a great opportunity for animals to get out of their kennels for some exercise and socialization. Please meet at Area 6 at 8:45am to begin hiking at 9am.
