Detective Randy Snyder for the National Crime Victim’s Rights Week Award

By Pinal County Sheriff’s Office

We have so many people within the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office that work hard every day to fight for the rights of victims. We appreciate the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for recognizing law enforcement’s efforts on behalf of victims.

This year, PCSO nominated Detective Randy Snyder for the National Crime Victim’s Rights Week Award.

Detective Snyder has been assigned to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau since 2010 where he was initially detailed to the Persons Crimes Unit. In 2014, he was selected and transferred to the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, where he remains assigned today primarily serving child victims within Pinal County.

Detective Snyder proactively portrays himself as an underage child and hunts those who would do harm to the children in our communities. Detective Snyder’s duties have also put him in investigations where he has successfully assumed the online identities of actual child victims who were being targeted by adults looking to exploit them. When investigations lead Detective Snyder into other jurisdictions, he works collaboratively with our local, federal and international law enforcement partners in the shared goal of serving child victims by bringing those who would exploit them to justice.

Over the course of 2018, Detective Snyder investigated over 46 cases involving child exploitation victims. Additionally, Detective Snyder makes presentations to at-risk youth on internet safety and anti-sex trafficking education. Some of these presentations were given while Detective Snyder was off-duty, and without compensation – a true indication of Detective Snyder’s dedication to child victims and empowering at-risk youth to make informed decisions to avoid becoming a victim themselves.

Detective Snyder’s positive attitude and resolve are unmatched as it pertains to serving victims, as anyone who works with him would agree.

Thank you, Detective Snyder, for all your hard work and commitment.
