The Pinal County Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) is seeking public comments. The study is a joint planning effort led by Pinal County with support of the Arizona National Guard (AZNG). The project also includes a broad group of stakeholders and participating organizations that comprise the Policy Committee and Technical Working Group involved in the project development.
The JLUS is funded through a grant from the Department of Defense (DOD) Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA). The Pinal County JLUS Project Area encompasses the central north-south corridor of Pinal County and includes Arizona National Guard installations of Florence Military Reservation, Rittenhouse Training Site, Silverbell Army Heliport, and Picacho Peak Stagefield; as well as the surrounding communities of the Towns of Florence, Marana, and Queen Creek; the City of Eloy; and other land managed by organization such as the Arizona State Land Department and Bureau of Land Management.
The Public Draft review and comment period will run through January 10, 2020.
