Hunt Highway Expansion
Scheduled for the week of April 22, contractor crews will place the final striping for the project area. This work will be conducted during night hours, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. As work on the project nears completion, there will still be miscellaneous work taking place off the roadway and in retention basins.
Hunt Highway is currently fully open with two lane access for northbound and southbound traffic past the new Gantzel intersection. It does narrow down to a single lane for northbound traffic just north of the Shops at Copper Basin.
Bella Vista Road – May 1st and May 2nd
Union Pacific Railroad will be doing track maintenance in Pinal County Right-of-Way via permit which will require full closures Bella Vista road east of Gantzel Road.
Hunt Hwy to Gary Rd: Project tentatively scheduled for starting construction late 2019. Germann Road – Ironwood to Meridian Rd: anticipate project starting late Summer 2019
Ocotillo Road Rehabilitation
Ironwood to Kenworthy: Pavement restoration project and a new traffic signal at Cambria Drive intersection. Project to start early March 2019, estimated construction duration 150 days.
Gary Road Widening Improvements
End of Town of Queen Creek Project to Empire Blvd: Tentatively scheduled for construction to begin Summer 2019
Germann Road to SR24: IGA completed with the Town of Queen Creek, design kickoff in January
Germann Rd to Riggs Rd/ Combs Rd: IGA completed with the Town of Queen Creek, construction tentatively scheduled for FY21/22 depending on funding
Traffic Engineering Improvements:
Champion School Speed Feedback Signage (Bella Vista Rd) – completion end of March (still awaiting Johnson Utilities sewer work in the area)
