Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Brought to You by The United Way of Pinal County

By Braden Biggs

The UWPC has invited Supervisor Mike Goodman and Dr. Jackie Elliott out on February 5th to the Central Arizona Community College campus in San Tan Valley for a kickoff/ celebration of our first ever official San Tan Valley VITA(Volunteer Income Tax Assistant) site. I wanted to reach out and formally invite you to attend as well if your schedule permits.

We plan on inviting members of the press out, as our hope is to increase awareness of the VITA program and the opportunity to have your taxes prepared for free if you are a low-income qualifier. Most individuals do not know that if you make less than 54k, you can partake in this opportunity. The average cost to prepare and file taxes in Arizona is $210.00, last year alone, the UWPC assisted 1300 Pinal County families and infused $4 million dollars back into the Pinal County Economy. Our goal this year is to increase to 1600 families. As such, we want to celebrate the past successes, and look toward the future.

Below are the details. Please let me know if you will be able to attend.
