Local Student And Eagle Scout Creates Something For The Community

By Laura Ridge, Principal Combs Middle School

Combs Middle School student, Hunter Clare collected over 1,800 books for his Eagle Scout Project, “Free Little Library” to serve his school community. The Free Little Library belongs to everyone and the books are always free. The library has been dedicated to honoring Hunter’s neighbor who passed away last year.

Hunter states “Mrs.Kaechelein was very involved in our community, especially at Simonton Elementary. I often saw her volunteering at the school or working at the book fair. I hope that our community will love books and love reading as much as I do.”
