Restrictions in place beginning 7 p.m. Sunday
By Arizona Department of Transportation
Eastbound Interstate 10 will be restricted to one lane overnight Sunday so Arizona Department of Transportation crews can pour concrete on the deck of new bridges over Jimmie Kerr Boulevard.
The restriction will be in place from 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, until 6 a.m. Monday, July 1. The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 45 mph and vehicles will be limited to no more than 12 feet wide.
At the same time, Jimmie Kerr Boulevard will be closed at I-10 for driver safety. Eastbound drivers can travel south on Trekell Road to Interstate 8, then east to I-10. Westbound drivers can follow westbound I-10 to Florence Boulevard (exit 194), then take eastbound I-10 to Jimmie Kerr Boulevard.
ADOT is widening I-10 to six lanes between Earley Road and I-8 (milepost 196-200). Work is expected to be complete by late summer.
