Hunt Highway Phase 4 & Gantzel Road Improvements Project UPDATE

For additional information on the project design and schedule, please visit the project website at www.HuntGantzel.com.

  • Scheduled to begin late Friday, April 27 at 11:00 PM through Sunday, April 29Hunt Highway will have lane restrictions between Stone Creek Dr and Chestnut Trail for asphalt pavement restoration due to previous utility work.    The construction is scheduled to be completed by Sunday night around 9:00 PM.
  • Scheduled to begin Monday, April 30, through Friday, August 24Hunt Highway will be CLOSED to traffic between Johnson Ranch Boulevard and Red Road (entry to Canyon Rock) for crews to begin work on Hunt Highway between Johnson Ranch Boulevard and Red Road.  During this work, all Hunt Highway traffic will be routed onto the new Gantzel Road Extension as a detour around the work zone.  Local access will be provided from the north for Rural Metro Fire, Johnson Utilities staff, and customers and staff of Allstate Self Storage.

Note: San Tan Times has spoken with All State Self Storage and Johnson Utilities who have both said that they were told customers will have access to their facilities, they were just not told how or when those customers would have access. We also reached out to Pinal County Supervisor Mike Goodmans office who also had not been informed of exactly what is going to happen. So it seems that yes, you will be able to get to the businesses you need to get to, but nobody has any clue how! From the North is all that has been said.
