FUSD Updates The Community
By San Tan Times & FUSD
This past November election FUSD was able to passed their Bond initiative. With those funds FUSD is now able to improve some of their equipment which means updating and upgrading certain security equipment, transportation, teaching equipment, athletic fields, playgrounds, and common spaces for security and safety.
Superintendent Chris Knutsen sent out this statement recently letting the community know what has been purchased with the bond funds at this point.
We have begun purchasing items with the bond dollars our community has so generously approved. We are committed to the fiscal responsibility and proper execution of these bonds to benefit our students and community.
The first round of purchases included 3 school buses for our students with disabilities that will be used by the entire district. These buses were a vital need for FUSD and are already on the road. We will purchase more as our bonds are sold and replacements are needed.
We also purchased a wood chipper and gannon tractor. This equipment will save the district money by allowing us to do a lot of our maintenance in-house rather than contracting out, saving FUSD in equipment rental fees that can exceed $500.00 per week.
Please stay tuned for more information regarding bond dollars and our promises to upgrade security, continue to provide our students with technology, update our fields and playground spaces, and much more!
